Talking Crawford goodies installed; impressions

Picked up my car today at Crawford's. Had Crawford strut bar, plenum, cats and headers installed, and also had them install Borla true dual exhaust for me. You know that oft-repeated thread titled "Can you tell any difference with (insert mod of choice)?" Well, you can tell a HUGE difference on the 'ol butt dyno when you get all the mods put on at once! My baby truly feels like an entirely different car.

Initial impressions:

1. Gawk factor increased by approx. 50%, apparently on the sound alone.

2. Even in a roadster w/the top up, sound isn't overly intrusive @ 3000-4000 rpm, except under hard acceleration (when you want it to be!).

3. Sound is easy to modulate: unobtrusive when u wanna be; obnoxious, "hey, everybody, look at me" when u wanna be.

4. Much quicker acceleration (no surprise there).

5. B/c of the increased hp, the stock rims/tires just ain't cuttin' it in the twisties anymore. New rims and wider tires are next mods, after I wear out RE040 Bridgestones.

In sum, great mods; well worth the money. Growing up as a country boy, I thought it was hilarious that every redneck's recommendation for every car was to "dual 'er out; put headers on it." Well, the rednecks were right, and I was wrong. I never should have laughed; maybe a six pack and a bug zapper are fun, too (j/k).

Well thought out choices there...must be nice to live in Crawford territory and get first rate service. You'll have a silly grin on your face for a while every time you turn that engine over. Congrats!

Congrats, and don't bash the bug zapper!

That's some good old fashioned fun!

You know, it's amazing what the car did to me yesterday. I'm a 36 yr-old professional, but it made me feel at least 15 years younger, and very UN-professional, but in a good way.

glad to hear from another happy crawford customer. i installed my headers and plenum after i did the exhaust and intake and noticed a huge difference between the two. i cant imagine the different you felt with the cats and exhuast added to the install. how much did they charge for install? did u read on how long it took them to install the headers?

thanks

john

It took my dad and I 14 hours to install my crawford headers and cats without a lift. But it was all worth it once they were on.

Thanks Glen
