Just an extra quart of oil. Its a good inexpensive alternative to a complete pan replacement, like ARC.

Just adds extra oil but it's awesome for the fi guys to tap in for an oil return line.

I know adding a larger capacity oil pan, or in this case a spacer, would benefit having a cooler engine when running hard like on track days. But what kind of pros/cons would it have for the car when just running normally on the street when not racing or running hard? Would your car actually run at a lower avergae oprerating temperature? Or would there really be no effect? For only about $99 and an extra quart of oil each change, seems like cheap insurance.

I'm definitely glad to have mine for that exact reason.

you will not notice the engine running any cooler... once the oil gets up to temp its pretty much up to temp and it cycles thru so fast that I dont think its really gonna sit in the pan long enough to drop temperature. Since there is more oil to heat soak, it will probably take an extra min or so before the oil temp reaches normal from cold start.

extra oil capacity is a good thing tho.

when you do full throttle runs it will take longer for the oil temperature to climb because it has more oil to absorb the heat.

with more oil in the system, the same oil is not cycled thru the engine as rapidly and it will not wear as quickly.

another great solution is to run a front mount oil cooler... not only does this dramatically lower your oil temps by air cooling but it also increases oil capacity a lot. it should also have a slight effect on engine coolant temps since there is a oil/water heat exchanger mounted under the oil filter.

A air/oil cooler, oil pan spacer, low temp thermostat, and upgraded radiator would be an awesome combo to combat all the heat in this very cramped engine bay for road racers and FI cars.

Do the spacers come with a pickup extension, seems to me that oil slosh could become a problem if the pickup is not relocated. I've never seen the inside of a Z oil pan so I'm sort of shoting in the dark here.
