Question Engine rebuild for salvage car - cost?

I found a great price on a 2004 350Z that was in a fresh water flood. It has been cleaned up, but it won't "start or turnover". My parts has a similar problem when they blew a headgasket and the engine was hydrolocked, so I'm thinking a little work could get it running, but, I thought I'd ask the following:

Assuming it's hydrolocked, what do you guys think it'd cost to get running again.

Assuming else, what does a complete rebuild cost for a 2004 350Z? Any places around Dallas/Ft.Worth Texas?

Thanks guys!

flood damage salvage car.

just walk away, do not pass go, do not collect 200$.

your looking at new rods, connecting arms, and easily more. or less.

but beyond that your looking at an endless supply of problems mostly electrical in nature. and a small war to sell it.

Agreed......if you add water to any car you are screwed down the road with huge electrical problems....no matter how quickly you dry it out. Treat the engine as if it needs a complete rebuild. It's not too bad if you can get the water out right away but if it sits for any period of time.....like in the salvage yard....it's cooked.

are you planning on buying the car, just so you have a rebuildable engine? If so, it's not a bad idea...depending on the cost. But as everyone else mentioned, DO NOT try to repair the entire car. There is a reason that all insurance companies will total out a water submerged car. Although the car "looks" fine, there are way too many gremlins lurking in there.

well.. would need an engine gasket kit...

but if you ask me... find another car that was wrecked in the rear and use the motor out of that
