Default what's the latest on ECU reset after mods

Ok this has been discussed numerous times before and i thought i made up my mind that reseting the ecu will do nothing to regain power from mods. Untill, i had the dealer reset the ecu to clear a evap related SES light. i wasn't expecting anything at all and didn't even think about it untill it dawned on me that the car feels much stronger. I have the JWT filter and EVO2 exhaust. am i imagining it?

No, I have experienced this as well. One thing that many people do not realize is that the manual says if the TB is unplugged or if the Battery is unhooked, the TB positioning needs to be done. The dealer may have reset that at the same time they reset the ECU with Consult. I have found the TB positioning can have a big effect on Throttle response.

It doesn't hurt and it is easy enough.

Can someone explain what the ECU Throttle Body Positioning reset is actually accomplishing? Thanks
