Default My Recent Dyno with TS

Whuts up everyone,

I finally got around to scanning my dyno chart...this dyno chart compares to my 1st dyno ever to the best dyno i have done yet...my car was at AAM doing alot of tuning...and Mike @ AAM and I worked on my car and tuning new fuel maps and different A/F ratios on a stock non FI setup...while we were messing with the fuel maps we noticed a difference in the power bands and we did alot of recording...we hit some pretty good #'s

Well after 3 days of tuning the car was finally off the dyno...it takes about 20 minutes every time you want to reflash the ECU...so it took some time to get the #'s we wanted...We found that after the TS reflash and raised rev limiter we gained alot of torque not a significant amount of horsepower, but for a car only running intake and plenum....id said i gained a pretty decent amount of power...17whp from stock....from 225whp to 243whp, our dynos were consecutive and we produced the same amount of power just about every time we did a run...we must have done over 50 runs and even though the rev limiter was raised to 7k we did not produce a hell of alot of power past the stock rev limiter spot (6500k) but you can see for yourself...

Reflections after ECU Reflash
Once the car got off the dyno i couldn't resist to open it up...i noticed that the car runs alot stronger the car felt like a 6MT...i beleive this is because we were using a 6MT ecu and not the 5AT ecu when we reflashed it...the car is amazing and i cant resist pushing it everywhere i go...(thank god to the Valentine One)

I would highly recommend going to AAM for your ECU reflash, they do a great job in the tuning

I would like to thank Altered Atmosphere for there work and Mike @ AAM for all the work he did on my car.

If you all have any questions just drop a line thanks for reading...
~Ben

With some cams you would notice some more power above the 6500 mark, but not too much further. When I had my car dyno'd we were comparing Dynos with different cams and noticed that there is another factor killing power right around the 6750 rpm mark if I remember correctly. There are some new plans in the works to hopefully take care of this factor.

So the first run was done completely stock, and the 31st run was done with the Pop charger and plenum and TS ECU reflash?

Sins4u33,
Thanks for the work. Do you have a plot that also shows Torque vs. RPM??? I'd be interested in seeing that.

Also, other than the fuel map, did you guys play w. the timing map or possible the intak cam timing map?

shinz: as for your question i have no idea....but the car definatley feels different after the ecu tuning i dont think there is much a difference between the ecu's....you would have to drive my car and drive another car without the TS reflash...

zzzya: hey how r those cams doing for you?? i am looking to get the jwts too really interested in what the idle sounds like....is there anyway you can put up a video or music file of the idle and maybe a few flybys??? i would really appreciate it

jjellyneck: yeah dyno #1 is stock and dyno#31 was the best dyno i had..most of the others compared to it...they were off maybe a few points of a horsepower but i chose the dyno with the most power...and yes i beleive it was dyno #4 or 5 is when i started dynoing the car for testing

THX723: i just left a message with Mike @ AAM and asked him to print out the Torque vs. RPM...i didn't really know how to use the dyno computer so i couldn't pick up the torque vs rpm...but he should be back with me within the day or 2...i will post it up though once i get it or i will have him throw it up....Yes we did play with the timing map also, it changed around the powerband from low end to high end or to medium ends of the powerband....we didn't gain that much power from the timing but definatley on a FI setup (which will be coming soon hopefully) we should be able to work around with the beast alot more and see better #'s...to due with intake cam timing map i am not sure...i only remember doing fuel maps, a/f, and timing maps.....we did alot of testing....

I dunno if you all knew though but to reflash the computer on the 350Z it takes about 20-30 minutes ever time you want to change something...from rev limiter to governor, to fuel maps....it takes quite alot of time to do this...and were trying to get the best setup for FI systems and NA systems....i would highly recommend calling up AAM (www.alteredatmosphere.com) if you are considering doing an ECU reflash...ill tell you all rev'ing up to 7k is alot of fun...like a whole new side to the car...if you got any other questions dont hesitate to ask..

forgot.....yeah after we raised the rev limiter we noticed the power decreases after that but...in the long run the car stays alittle higher up in the power band...i haven't had a chance to track the car yet but...when i do i will let you all know how it goes...and if my times have changed at all...

once i get cams there should be a big differnece in the higher rpms especially around the raised limiter from 6500k-7000k....well see though...ive heard alot about the cams and i think i am leaning more towards the JWT

Default AAM ECU Reflash

Ben,

Thanks for your info on the reflash and tune at AAM. I made an appointment with them for next Tuesday for just the reflash. I'm gonna see how that goes and possibly get a custom tune down the road.
Do they provide a couple dyno runs with the reflash or is that only with the custom tuning included? I'll let you all know my impressions once I get the reflash done.
Finally there'a a shop that works on and tune 350Z's in MD! ATI Procharger here I come!
