Default Dynoed tonight with my G 243.99 hp with almost 14:1 a/f ??

On a dyno jet tonight at 83 degrees i got 4 runs in from this place in Ronkonkoma. They couldnt get a good enough lead to get my rpms all the way up to redline, so they had to do a power to speed comparison. They did get the rpms up to 5.75 to give to technosquare for tuning purposes but my a/f was as high as 14:1, getting a little better to like 13.6 towards 6k rpms. Is that normal with my mods??? Kinetix plenum and cats, u/r crank pulley, and stillen intake w\ the z tube.

I had 2 runs of 243.99 and 243.7X i do not have a scanner to post them yet, but i definatly am gaining power all the way on up to redline, there is no drop off what so ever to 112 mph which is the top of my 4th gear. The third and fourth runs were slightly lower, I'm guessing due to the engine heating up. Should i be happy with these results? Before i went there I said i wanted 245hp, I got 244 but the air fuel is almost 14:1. It is making me want to send my computer out tomorow..... But if my car is so lean now are they going to be able to extract more power out of it, becuase they need to richen it up, not lean it out???

By the way if anyone has a link to whatever thread from i forget what forum with the list of everyones dyno results and mods id love to check it out, im searching around but i cannot find it, thanks for any feedback you guys have!!!! By the way if you live on long island this place is awsome and they guys are mad cool, a neighborhood crack head even heard the cars and stopped in, LOLOL, dyno is great tho, by the way it was a dynojet....

Yes, these are pretty good numbers. 14:1 relatively high in the RPM band is very lean; the Technosquare reflash should alleviate that.

hmm.... but would that result in more hp in the car by having them bring it to 12:5:1 or does it just make it "safer?".... I would hope after the ecu i could be over 250, is this logical??

Probably a little more power and a little bit safer. Also keep in mind that many of the dyno places don't have the most accurate A/F sniffers. The super accurate ones (installed very close to the header or before the cats) are more accurate and generally show readings that are maybe 0.5 richer than the tailpipe sniffer.

By the way, how long have the cats, plenum and intake been on the car? The stock ECU does need 150-200 miles to fully adapt (within its parameters) to the new airflow.

In the tuning process of my Z, we played with air/fuel from mid 12's to as high as 14.1. Before any tuning and with the mods that I have, I had a high 13 for a/f. When we got it leaned it out a bit more we heard the dreaded "BB's in a tin can sound" around 5700 rpms with an a/f of 14.1 at the particular rpm (95 degrees outside temp). We went ahead and richened it up quite a bit, until I was in the low 13's for most of the powerband and high 12's after 5500 rpms all the way to redline. Redline in my case is 7200 rpms with the Technosquare limited reflash. The difference in horsepower between high 13's and low 13's/high 12's at redline resulted in the loss of about two horsepower throughout the powerband starting at 3500 rpms. Given that there is an error factor for dynos to be taken into consideration, I would have to say that power was the same but that the motor was a hell of a lot safer all the way to redline. I do rev my motor up to 7000 in first gear only and make the rest of my shifts just slightly after peak power. Just for your information, we did gain a little more power while in the mid 13's, but opted to lower it a bit more just to keep things safer.

Thats interesting, i figured my lean mixture right now may be producing max hp but i do some what get that tin can sound too.... the mods have been on my car for over 2k miles already with a two computer resets so thats not an issue. Yea i made power all the way until redline so im curious to see when my power fall off is, im guessing around 6800. The main issue is at lke 35000 rpms im above 14:1..... will technosquare get this all right if i just send them copies of my a/f curves and my mods??? Out of curiosity i almost feel like my car lost pull from the pulley, could this be affecting my a/f? i almost want to go back without the pulley on there and at least from what i believe my number would be higher....

I vaguely remember reading somewhere on this forum that someone got a higher A/F with the underdrive pulley. A few guys thought it had to do with the dyno not getting enough resistance, but that was a dyno thing. Who knows?

14.1 a/f at 3.5k rpm should be ok. 14.1 a/f in the 4.5k to 5k area is when you start to get worried.
