Question -- Techno Square ECU --

Anyone here know if the Techno Square ECU is worth it ?? They claim that it "raises the stock rev limiter, changes timing and fuel curves to provide more horsepower and torque."

Probably not worth it by itself. If you have a bunch of other mods it is worth it because your car will run right.

I have a bunch of bolt-ons on my car, they caused me to run really lean over 15.1 A/F's...I sent it to Technosquare with my dyno plots and I gained 8whp and 13 w ft lbs and my a/f is a perfect 13.1 across the board, so in my case it was WELL worth it, I was super happy with the results, car runs much stronger, and the TQ increase was nice.

I've heard from TS that they can re-flash up to 10/04 manufacture date. I'd call TS to conform. I'm going soon for the re-flash I want the car to be running in the correct a/f range. Everything else (power, rev/speed limiter removal, etc.) is just gravy.

Altered Atmosphere uses the TS software....everyone who flashes a Z ecu uses TS software, which itself is Techtom software (same software everyone in Japan uses who offers a "tuned rom" ecu for the Z).

I had my car flashed by Mike.....got very good gains and will likely go back when the new heads are done

i think there's a way to check by looking for some numbers/letters on the ECU or price sticker.

I got it and as others have said. I have a lot of bolt on mods and the air/fuel was F'ed up. Very lean, so I took it to tadashi and now I am straight across the line, very nice, with a few extra ponies to boot!

for you, wait till you are FINISHED modding and then go get it...

I have the TS reflash and personally I think its one of the better mods. It dropped mt 1/4 time more then anything else. The extra 500 RPM really help.

Default Optimal A/F ratio with mods

I am going to Dyno my car on Saturday. What A/F ratio would indicate the car is running lean? What are the ranges? I read on the TS website after they flash the ECU the A/F will be 12.5 across the rev band. Is that the optimal A/F for our cars? I am just trying to decide if I need the Flash done. Has anyone purchased another ECU and flashed that instead of their original one? The Infiniti mechanic told me that there might be a problem re-flashing the original code from a backup copy. Any truth to this? Thanks for the help.
