Default 3rd gear grind how can i get this fixed

first off i bought my car used from a nissan dealer with 13400 miles on it i now have 16600 miles on it and just recently started getting the 3rd gear grind after i shift into 3rd after 3500rpm. does nissan cover the transmission untill a certain amount of miles w/o purchasing a extended warranty? how would i go about having this problem fixed without having to come up with money out of my pocket?

thanks
paul

If you bought it from nissan dealer, it should be certified right? And even if it isn't, it only has 16600 miles. You are still under warranty and I'd say just go to dealer and get the transmission replaced. It'll be covered under the warranty and you won't pay a penny.

And try go get a new cluch/lightweight flywheel so that you can save on the labor.

Yup, it will be covered by warranty. Go to the dealer and get your transmission replaced!

(I'm on my 3rd transmission at 17,000 miles )

so even without purcahsing any warranty on a used car the transmission is covered? because when i purchased the car it did come with a limited warranty but the duration of warranty was only 90 days or 3000 miles.

I got the grind too at 16k miles. Problem is....I can't reproduce it when I'm at the dealer

It only really does it in the morning when it's cold. I would imagine it will get worse so I'll just wait. It should be covered under warranty for 60k miles, no?

The powertrain warranty is 60,000 miles/5 years. Doesn't matter if you are 1st owner or 50th owner.. it's transferable.

Good luck as I know I'm annoyed as hell when there is something wrong with the Z until it's fixed!
