Default Any tips for the dyno?

I'm going to dyno the beast this Friday in preparation for a TS reflash soon after. I really want to get the a/f evened out and the vtc/ignition timing changes, the other stuff is cool but really just icing. The facility uses a Dynojet 248E chassis dyno and a wideband O2 sensor.

Besides noting the offset in measurement between tailpipe and the O2 bung readings, what other things should I look for/be aware of at the dyno on Friday?

I will remember to turn off the a/c

When I get the reflash and the last dyno, I'll post up the results.

hmm good luck.. And if you get really low #s, just add 20hp, and 15Tq, and blame the low #s on the weather.

Yeah the price is $75 for 2 pulls. I'll do 2 pulls before and 2 after the TS reflash. Could be interesting.

My manufacture date is 10/03 so no problem with the reflash.

However, thx UT for that one, I didn't think about that. Yeah the VDC might be a problem on a dyno. Nice pull.

I assume that you've checked and verified with TS on that. It was always my understanding that it was a model year issue, not a build date. The ECUs for the '04s is different than for the '03s, regardless of the build date.

There are several comments in Chebosto's thread on the '04 ECU that state that anything built 10/03 or later can't be reflashed:

I thought I remembered seeing a thread a couple days ago that they had finally broken the code for the '04. dont know if they are reflashing yet but they made big progress with it

as I heard it; the thing to do is wait for the radiator fan to come on; then wait for it to go off... as soon as it goes off; do your run. it ensures consistant engine temps within a given run; and also ensures the engine hit its operating temp.

Yes, there was something in that thread by Chebosto that the code had been cracked but it would also be a little while before TS whould have a firm release date, etc.

Ares: Nice tip. This is why I like this forum. BTW, the blinker and driving light LED bulbs are great

DavesZ#3: When I talked with TS they assured me that 10/03 z's were reflashable. They've even had success reflashing z ECUs as far as out as 12/03.

Hugo: Good one. Already checked, 35 psi all around.

I don't except any problems (fingers crossed).
