Default Slipping Clutch

I was praticing launching my car last night. I turned VDC off. THe second time launching towards 4k rpms the clutch pedal sticks slowing down the car a little bit. This did not only happen once, but 2-3 times. This happened long ago at the track also. Now daily driving i dont see a problem. Just when i launch. Yes i did launch a few times without this problem. WHAT is going on for this to happen ever so often? Ive been thinking about replacing stock clutch and flywheel. Is this common?

Here's a hint: dont launch your Z at 4000rpms and the clutch wont wear out prematurely. There are people on this board in the 12s that launch under 3k. You'll wear out an aftermarket just as fast with your type of driving.

I had about 40,000 also on my stock b4 swapping it and it was fine on the road but was slipping it at the track.. I had about 25+ trips down the 1/4 b4 any major problems.... I think the stock clutch is pretty decent...

Slip at 3500rpm... It'll give you a nice launch!

Yes, sticky tires can cause a slipping clutch but I've only experienced it with DRs. If your clutch is really slipping, it will show when you accelerate from a roll. Get the car in 5th gear and floor it. See what happens.

If you're racing on a sticky track and warm weather, launch around 3k or 3500 like Phoenix said. If it's cold out and track is not sticky, adjust your launch. 2000, 2500 etc.

Oh, and drive AROUND the water box
