Default NA VS FI - gas mileage

I know most don't care but I've heard alot of the NA mods cause your gas mileage to go to hell. Is this true? I'm not talking about getting on it but in normal highway cruising.

Would a turbo or supercharger allow you to keep your regular gas mileage when your not Boosting?

I'm just thinking that maybe the additional 20 to 30hp you get NA may not be worth losing your fuel economy. Stock Z has pretty good performance to mileage ratio.

redline tt, I think you forgot to subtract 20mpg from your updated mileage w/ TT. Shouldn't it be 8-10mpg on the street and 13-16 on the highway?

Hey Redline, did you actually calculate that or is that what the Z's gauge told you? I'm just curious, because I would think the added / bigger injectors one usually adds with a TT kit would throw off that mileage gauge in the dash. If it's calculated however, I'm tellin' my wife NOW! I drive crazy far every day and if this actually improves gas mileage (which I have a hard time rationalizing), I'm buyin the turbo kit tomorrow!

It's probably because he doesn't have to stomp on it as hard with the TT...versus being at WOT all the time NA...like me.

I've seen my gas mileage go down quite a bit. I used to get 360miles per fill up...now it's closer to 290.

(Filling up 15-17 gallons)

Glad this is not just me. I was thinking the same thing yesterday, "Man am I really getting this crappy gas milage?" nice to know that others have a fat foot as well.
