The "weird weaved things" are exhaust flex adapters, which absorb the engine torque and prevent it from pulling your exhaust off of the hangars or banging into the heat shields.

I am also a poor college kid. All my money goes to paying the z off or buying stuff for it. I got TopSpeed Pro-1 exhaust. It sounds absolutely amazing. It was definately a good choice. If you want videos, information, or just where to buy it cheap pm me.

Advice for all the "poor" college kids.
Buy a home before you buy a car!

I am not OLD by any means (22 for 2 more weeks) but if I had to do it over I may have opted for something cheaper and I would have 1 more investment property now.

But then again I want to enjoy the car now when I can get more @ss with it!...its a tough call.

I prefer a muscley sound that lets people know the car means business. I never liked the stock exhaust nor the nismo. Both sound powderpuff IMO, so I went with boral td and took off the cats. It sounds very nice. The low rpms are very bassful and with cams, the idle is just simply music. When you get on it, the car sounds very exotic and very powerful and I can turn heads a few blocks away . It's not overly loud in the cab either. I used to run around with the stock exhaust with the muffler cut off, that sounded very nice and very aggressive without being ricey/stupid sounding. Everyone that heard it complimented it, but it was loud in the cockpit, drowned out music and talking wasnt of much use.

I'd recommend borla td w/ no cats (resonated) anyday. But to each his/her own, best advice is to simply seek people out that have these exhausts local to you and listen to them.

Only thing with Borla TD is to keep an eye on exhaust cracks. Mine has cracked and I can't find my receipt of purchase for them to warranty it, save your receipt!!!

topspeed is sweet and cheaper, but it's not a complete solution. the y-pipe would still have to be replaced. and isn't the y-pipe the only piece that is actually some what restrictive after the cats?
