What will cause an engine to run rich?
A few questions on this issue:
Other than an engine software programming issue, what will cause an engine to run rich at idle and steady state cruise?
My A/F sensors on BOTH cylinder banks are reading a fuel trim of 75% and giving me an SES light. After clearing the light, it came on again after about 150 miles of driving, during a steady interstate cruise. These are the only DTC's I am getting. (P1271 & P1281).
The obvious problem source would be the programming with my HKS supercharger piggyback computer, but is there anything else that I should be looking at? My car is a late 2004 model and is a ULEV. Any help/input much appreciated.

Limp mode? Then again if it did enter limp mode, you shouldnt be able to rev past a certain range.

No limp mode whatsoever. Didn't do it the first time and not this time. Car runs great.

Just a note , if your car is a late 2004 you should be ULEV2 , 2003 and early 2004 were ULEV, the "1" is implied. If the HKS PB dinks with the MAF signal, I'd suspect that area.

Is the pre-cat A/F sensor just picking up a reading for too much fuel compared to the reading from the MAF since the MAF is, in fact, pre-supercharger.
I know the kit also reads Manifold pressure, but I have also tapped into this line for a boost gauge. Argggghhhhh.....so much to think about!!!!!?????
