I tested some different arrengments but found that the power enterprise oil pan with the buttom plastic shroud removed worked best for me. my max temps are at 200 degree.

 

Nice install.....Clean and neat.....Stainless braided hose would be sexier.

 

im speaking of the fittings required to connect the 90 degree to the oil cooler itself. I dont believe those were included in the list

 

They are on the list, just not in the picture. #5 on the list of stuff you need mentions 4 are needed. I'm not sure why I didn't put them in the picture. My bad.

 

Wow so it works great!! After boosting pretty hard my temps only hit 170 max!!!! Used to hit 210 or more!!

When installing the sandwich plate did you use tape on the threads of extender to the stock oil filter hold threads, does that make sense
to make sure its not loose, not the filter but the oh you know what I mean

 

no, do not use tape there. tighten it down with a wrench and you will be fine

 

Yea I figured that so I just tightened it, no tape.

 

which way does the side with the gasket go towards?? I have a feeling its in not on the side with the oil filter

Just thought i'd chime in since i don't see burb ports on any of these coolers. Did the people who have installed these take the time to run the motor with the coolers in an fashion where the ports were right side up? If not, you've probally trapped some air in the top of the core, and are thus screwwing yourself out of some added efficiency.

 

I understand what you are thinking. But I actually took the idea of mounting it this way after looking at some of my motorcycles. Ie... Triumph speed triple. They were all mounted what seems like upside down. I figured if it was good enough for such a small volume engine, it probably wouldn't be to bad in this application. You could be right, but the cooler seems to work extremely well.

 

Just curious if you think it would help to run the car first with the cooler port side up until oil has a chance to fill the cooler, then once that happens and the air is most certainly out, to then orient the cooler the way you want and secure it...to the bumper.
What device are you thinking to use to "burp" the system and purge the air out?

 

I'm sure you could, but I didn't find it to be necessary. Sure won't hurt anything to do it the way you are talking about though,

 

how much extra oil do you add to the car??

 

i added 1/2 quart, so now with my APS oilpan spacer, I add 6 quarts per oil change. Im actually curious how much oil sits in the lines and the oil cooler when I drain the oil... any input?
