wow! i love this set up. thanks to alamo performance and their inexpensive and great work... i was told that first gear was going to be too short blah blh blah but it actually isnt too bad, i have a jwt fly and clutch set up so it was already short as it is. but i am mostly impressed with the end of 2nd and the rest of the gears!!! this thing is a beast now. all i need is to reflash my ecu and im good to go... has anyone heard any good stuff about technosquare?

then measured my favourite method of acceleration measure - 80-120km
it shortened 0.13 seconds off, down to 3.42 from 3.56. hopefully it will get better as the gears and lsd are worn in for smoother operations
One question about this. I thought that the 3.971 FD is supposed to help the lower end much more than the top end. GLad to see that the 80k-120k is helped as well.
Did you do any 0-62?

I want to try this one at home too... Little scary though. Will deff save alot of money. There are few shops that will even touch this job, and those who will, rape your a$$ on the price. I'm gonna read this writeup a few more times and see if I can build up the confidence.

Nice job, you must love it Like... Alot!
I really thought you were going to have problems there, unfortunatly some of the factory procedures for reassembly are quite complex and require insanely over priced tools to adjust the Side bearing pre-load, Pinion gear height, Pinion bearing preload, Ring gear to pinion backlash, Ring and pinion gear tooth contact pattern. Out of curiosity, how many miles have you put on it so far, and are you still having any noise or clunk issues?

hmm probably good 10000km now.
still driving fine, the diff however got less lock now than before. I am wondering if this is because of the diff oil i used had too much friction modifier in it (Motul PA90 or something like that,,) or i already burnt the clutch discs. At the next service I am going to change it to 80% lock and use the same oil again.

are these the oem parts needed to complete the FD build?
2 x side oil seal
2 x side bearing
1 x pinion seal
1 x front pinion bearing
1 x rear pinion bearing
1 x pinion gear spacer
as of now i have the pinion nut, crush sleeve and pinion oil seal...can I get away with the install with just that...or do I need to get what's in that list above?
