Question, I got a JWT flywheel and Z1 clutch kit. My mechanic told me he had to adjust the clutch pedal to make it work. As soon as I let off the floor the clutch is engaged. No real gap so would I benefit from this DIY fix? I read earlier that clutch engagement setting really doesn't matter so exactly what does this do. Confused

This basically eliminates the noticeable high engagement point of the stock clutch by stopping how far the clutch can be pressed in.

A follow-up:
This mod is still on my car and has been performing great since the day I put it on. One minor issue that I encountered recently was when I blew out the hydraulic line coming off the slave cylinder going to the master cylinder. After replacing and bleeding the clutch I drove around a bit and noticed a much softer pedal. It took me a few days but I have just realized that I bled the clutch with the stopper on which stops the clutch from being fully depressed. I have not re-bled the clutch since and it does seem to be firming up a bit, (maybe bubbles are working their way out on their own) but I may opt to re-bleed it this weekend just for preference.
So, remember it is there when you are bleeding your clutches, guys. I would recommend removing the stopper to bleed and putting a fresh piece of red backing 3m on the stopper when reinstalling it.

A++ for this mod...I did it today and notice a heck of a difference. I also repositioned the threaded rod on the other end of travel to eliminate all slop and free play so the clutch now feels real solid to the point that my wife who has never driven a stick until a week ago thought it was way easier to drive since you dont have to search for the engagement point 3-4 inches away from the bottom. Thanks again.

Can someone explain to me how this stopper mod has a different effect then adjusting the threaded rod to move the clutch engagement point? I did the threaded rod adjustment the other day, but if this is safer for the clutch then I'll reverse it and do this. It could be in my head but the car seems more difficult to shift since I adjusted the threaded rod. I did jack up the back of the car and with the threaded rod adjustment (2.5 turns) and with the clutch disengaged the rear wheels do not move.

I did this mod and loved it especially for a short guy like me. .
Just want to make sure I'm not burning my clutch, so I have one question. When I press the clutch pedal all the way and little bit of gas, it doesn't move. Does this mean I'm safe?
