Default DIY: swapping in a manual from an auto transmission

Looking for some info or recommendations on swapping out that automatic transmission for a 6/5spd manual gearbox that will mate up to an Ls block. I know the running gear from camaro/trans am are the go to swap, and likely that is what I'm going to do. I was wondering if there was any one that has done this swap & may have found other transmission options that work well. Also what troubles am I looking at for this auto to manual swap? Thanks for any helpful input

and you posted this in the forced induction area why? you will need the engine harness for the manual. if you are doing an LS swap you would prob get better answers on what would go best on an LS forums is my thinking
