I have a 08 Z that now has a few issues, one being 0 oil pressure at idle. It’s throwing codes P0021 and P0171, when I drove it the oil pressure goes from 30-60 but never above 60, I haven’t drove it since I noticed that about a week ago. Now as u can guess I don’t wanna spend 1400 for a shop to do the gaskets, now I don’t have much mechanical knowledge and messing up timing is a big worry I have so how hard is it to do the galley gaskets and does anyone have any tips on getting the timing right.

 

Plan on spending more than $1400 … I did it for a friend and I charged him $1600 for just labor (and he was happy to pay it) its very time intensive … you’ll need a few hundred dollars in parts.

I think Nissan quoted him $2400 for the job -

For how important the job is dont go cheap on it

If you are inexperiecned with timing on these engines then let someone with experience do the work.

 

I called a local shop that works on Z and other sports cars and 1400 was the quote I got, the thing is my car has other issues that I need to fix asap and I just don’t want to burden my wallet too much…

 

welcome to responsible car ownership ... cars dont heal themselves and the sooner you make these repairs the sooner your car will be usable as its original intention.
