Default VK56 Swap

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of necessary parts and integration blocks for the 350z VK56 swap? Obviously, employing the manual RE5 requires an adapter plate, also needs a solution for the VK CAS location on the trans bell housing if switching to a manual. New engine mounts, new trans mounts if you push the engine back to the fire wall, what else? Factory Titan harness? Haltech? What does it take to get a VQ powered Z into a VK powered Z?

I'm starting a VK56 swap myself and would like to not go into this completely blind. Everyone knows about the swap, and some of you have actually done it, but no one seems to know exactly how its done, even those who've done it.

Ill be logging all of my information to write a comprehensive 'How-to' in the future, after I get the project near completed, but I could certainly use some insight.

Why don't you search this site? There is a thread currently open discussing this topic.

I have searched the site and found nothing of any substance. Which thread are you referring to? Most threads are filled with people giving each other high fives.

Can't anyone do a custom rear-mount turbo for an ls swap for under 2k maybe 3k with an expensive turbo

That engine is just so overpriced.

yeah it is, and unless you fix the valve guide issue you have to worry about trashing the motor.

if i were me, i would do ls2/ls3.. little stronger, and yes there is a rear mount turbo

Cool story bro, show me your ls swap into a z/g platform. Love to see how easy your stand alone system was.

Exactly. You didnt do the wiring and by the lopks pf the motor location, you destroyed the eright distribution just to put the motor in.

I never said it was bad.
I talking getting it running yourself, the mechanical work is easy.

the sikky did came with the wiring, but one part confused us so we didnt mess with it, but it piggy backed both ecu's

and we didnt destroy anything, the ls motor sits lower and further back... that is how every ls swap is

Quickdiversion has a personal vendetta against any motor swap that is easier than his tedious and "steady-paced" vq56 swap.

He'll show those ls swapped z's what 265whp and 325wtq is all about in about 3-4 more years

. . .And the fact that barely anyone cares for his build

Cute.
There is plenty interest in my build.
Yes my build is steady paced, I have a budget and I stuck stuck to it. When you work a lot and your married an engine swap is not always my priority.
