then i would think that the other c/f hoods for our car would be lighter? i have seen the vis in person, and it looks much heavier than my seibon! the oem style looks even lighter than mine!

I've always wondered are the heat extractors open/functonal or just cosmetic? No debate on the actual functionallity/effectivness this is just a simple question.

If they are open do they come with plugs for rainy weather/snowy season?

How's the quality of your VIS vs say a Seibon?

MY Vis hood rubs on teh strut tower brace even after I ripped off the POS plastic rain catch, because it wouldn't even close with it on the hood. Now it is not too bad except that I have larger gaps between teh hood and the front fenders.

i guess i was disappointed that it wasn't lighter; it certainly appears to be cf.
sdmf: the benefit of the vents is HUGE. my underhood temp is way less compared to that with the stock hood. imo, its the main benefit of this hood.
mattressman: never seen a seibon; can't compare.
zxrage: yeah, mine rubs, too, on two points on the strut bar, even more now that i have the kinetix plenum. i had to add washers under the left side of the bar to clear the plenum, and now the hood rubs even more despite the hood locking mechanism being in the highest position. i filed down the two tiny points on the bar at which the hood's vents rub, but there's still contact.
spdu: i removed the rain guard as soon as i got the hood and have never used it, so i can't really say.

That's too bad cuz I love that hood. I told Zboy that it makes his Z certainly stand out. Carbon Innovation is selling them on eBay for $493 BUY NOW plus shipping.

It's very hard to get a quality hood that is lighter than stoc. The hood on our cars is pretty big, and I changed out my hood all by myself, something I could not do on my old Honda Accord. If you want light weight, stay stock, not worth a few hundred to save a few lbs if that. If you want style, or cooling capabilities, etc... then CF is the way to go.

hey ZBOY, is that hood painted black too??

Because if it is, then youre adding some paint weight! Could it be maybe 6-6.5 pounds lighter?

Im just thinking out loud though

took this from that auction... just so that nobody get screwed thinking that it is free shipping.

"After the auction, buyer ***MUST*** make sure to add the shipping cost $150 to the auction ended price when sending payment."
