Default Seibon and VIS Carbon Fibre Hoods

Is there a difference between the VIS Fusion Hood versus the Seibon VT hood ? Has anybody seen both of them up close ? Quality and fitment between these two ? I am still trying to decide if I should go with the VIS Fusion hood or the Seibon VT hood. The price of the VIS Fusion hood is a little bit cheaper but with S/H charges, both of them came out to be almost the same.

My seibon hoods quality was fantastic...cant speak for the VIS though. I have however seen VIS products on other vehicles and they seem to look just fine.

Well both hoods are different, they are not the same style. I've seen really good quality from both, however on my VIS Fuzion hood, I had some minor fitment issues. Minor because I think they are minor, other may not. I had to widen the holes in the hinges a little, but after the hood fit on perfect. Also, the tray that bolts to the underside of the hood doesn't clear the stock bar well at all, so that's an issue. I tried to cut it and modify it so that if doesn't rub, but i couldn't make it work, so i just removed the tray altogether. It sucks in the rain, but any hood with vents will be the same.
Most Seibon hoods i've come accross are excellent as are VIS.
Both are really good choices.

I talked to seibon directly and they assured me fitment would be perfect. They said they had a few minor issues with their first patches for the 350z but they have taken care of all them.

there is also an warranty on the seibon hoods. So if there is a flaw you can just send it back.

I just talked to my shop and they said they are working on getting me a new hood. I should receive it after JGTC.

I haven't officially announced issue 10 yet for our Project ActiveTuning series, but it's online, and covers everything on the Seibon TS hood (including the fitment issues we did come across).

You can find the article here:
