anybody self install a VIS replica rear wing?
Just wondering where do you use those black plastic strips and round rubber things? There's like 6 each. I just want the installer to do it right, so i figured i'd ask here first.
thanks!
thanks!
hard to give advice without knowing what model wing you're talking about
afaik vis makes several replica wings for our cars
if you're talking OEM style and if the vis replica is anything like actual OEM, all you need is a row of double-sided tape around the edge

Sorry, i just assumed VIS includes these plastic things with every wing they ship. It's the jdm nismo wing as in my sig, VIS includes 6 plastic strips and 6 rubber bumper type things. I assume the rubber bumpers are for the front edge of the wing that touches with the body, or just rubber spacers for the base, but the 6 plastic strips, i have no clue. The installer probably won't even use those i assume, he's using double sided 3m and the 4 screw mount points. The strips are black hard thin plastic about 7" long, 1/4 inch wide, in the middle there is a small round extrusion that sticks out about 1/8 in.
Never mind, VIS said they are used for the base as cushions if you don't use double sided tape i guess. I wouldn't use them as cushions though, they are hard thin plastic. I guess you drill six holes in the base of the wing and you put the center round protrusion in the drilled hole and the strip goes against the body as sort of like a small gasket or spacer.
