Default Stillen Blower W/ custom hood

Alright so I have a Seibon TS carbon fiber hood and am considering getting the Stillen Stage 2 supercharger because I live in Cali.(CARB cert.) I would like to keep the Seibon hood and get the Stillen hood cowl either in carbon fiber, or in fiberglass and paint it silverstone to match the car leaving the rest of the hood unpainted.
Any thoughts, opinions, or other ideas (besides "don't do the Stillen") would be greatly appreciated.

would be very original imo. i probably wouldn't do the CF cowl unless somehow you are able to compare the CF weave of the cowl to the CF weave of the hood. make a trip to stillen to see the product in person. if the weaves are close, go for it. if not, try the fiberglass one. if the CF patterns are too different then it might look a bit funny. try photochopping the two alternatives then compare them, that should help in your decision.

Yeah I'm thinking the painted fiberglass cowl would be sick. I would really like to keep the Seibon hood if possible because it would be original and also I think the vents on the hood would help with heat from the blower.

If you are going with a scoop, you could search some of the muscle car vendor sites, like summitracing.com and look for other universal scoops that might also appeal to you.

Just a quick comment. I have the Stillen Stage 2 (CA cert). I love the torque and power only two negatives are: typical S/C whine and the fact that the Stillen fiberglass hood is a "sloppy" fit on my Z.

My vote is for a paint-matched cowl.
The whine is irrelevant. The power is not - go for it.

I have seen that you posted that you have installed Vortech Kits. Is the Vortech louder? I have never heard the Stillen kit other than a video posted from a Stillen dyno event.

the vortech is much louder. It makes noise constantly (though not always loud, and not as loud as the procharger). You can only hear the stillen under boost. At idle you wouldn't know its there.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I am definately going to do the paint matched cowl and the stage 2 (for now) supercharger. I'll post pics when all is done but for now I must save a little more cash. Oh yeah and I can't wait to hear that whine! Any word on a stage 4 ?

I think znitro has been working with stillen on an 8lb pulley, but he said to contact them directly for info.

Thanks for the offer bro but I think I've pretty much made up my mind to do the painted cowl on the Seibon hood. Something different ya know. If my plans change I'll let you know.
