Zcar= Cell phone hell
Hi gang,
I searched first and the only cell-phone install I found was Doc Bonz (and a fine install it was). I'm not looking for a totally hands-free system, just a way to hold my phone so it won't launch from the coin tray every time I take a corner. Has anybody found a bracket that integrates into the upper air vents or.........?
Thanks,
Bruce

No Pep Boys in Oregon. I'll check my local cell phone retailers.
There was a company making a really cool bracket that fits around the stereo mounting plate(I had one in my 4Runner), but I don't know if they have one for the Z. If I find one, I'll post it.

Is it really only feasible to have a hands free setup if you have a blue tooth phone? All the posts I've found about this seem to lead to companies offering blue tooth setups - but unfortunately my phone doesn't have that. I find this hard to swallow, since my Mom's 89 Z had one of those old school car phones (permanent mount), and she had a hands free kit!
Not to change the subject of holders, but there's the "Bluetooth" that like a Hearing aid that you wear on your ear, left o right. No wires, anything. You can keep your cell in the glove box, and nobody can even see it when your driving. i.e. for the day, when the law says - no cell phones while driving. Cingular has them and also believeTmobile does too now.

sundevil67- My sister just installed another handsfree kit in her new Porsche, so they're still available.
WSchli1672- I have friends who ***** and moan continually about Bluetooth sound quality. Besides, I can't see my caller-ID screen if the phones in the glove box:-)

Nice, clean install. That mount is what I was looking for. How's the hands-free setups sound quality while you're driving at highway speed? I was just planning on using a unidirectional headset microphone.
thanks,
Bruce

Anyone have any pictures of creative permanently mounted cel phone installs? Here is an example of one in a Lexus. I am looking to do something maybe with the change-bin space. Anyone ??
