btw, it look 96% close. Just missing the metalic part.

Order, not likely. Sanding these parts was a pain in the a$$!!!!

But I will say, they look so good it's sick. I need to finish buffing the other 2 pieces so I can install them.

And I only strive to equal the interior of Bubble.

Question - if I wanted to get something like this done, do I go to the local body shop, or my favorite car audio installation place? Forgive the ignorance - I am not a "do-it yourselfer". I woudn't even handle the stealth radar install. . . I pay someone else to do this stuff

Did the paint come in a can or do you have a proffessional machine to spray with? How many layers did you apply?

No ignorance here, mainly because I know shops of both that can do that. More than anything you need to find a trustworthy place. If you go to a car audio shop they might have a photo album of past projects. If you can get a local recommendation that is the best.

Not really a professional setup, but pretty close. I use a 40 gallon air compressor and a gravity fed spray gun. For paint I use the professional grade of PPG paints (DBC line). As far as layers I have 1 layer (more of a dusting) of adhesion promoter, 4 layers of DBC Base Coat color (daytona blue in my case), and 6 layers of DBC clear coat. Of the clear coat I sand quite a bit off in the process of smoothing it. Then I use a buffing and polishing compound to make it shiny after I sand it.

But I do this in my garage, so that is where any level of professional ends

Default Painted Console

I would like the whole thing painted - all the way up to the center console underneath my elbow - I've seen it done but can't locate a picture. If I was to send this away, I wonder how they would match the paint of my car - do they just use the standard Nissan Chrome Silver? Do any of you have a link to a "how to" on removing all of that stuff? I have never dug into the dashboard before...

Thanks.

you mean like mine?

and go all the way to the back

If that is what you want the the answer is YES. However, it will cost you a lot. The front part cost about $400. The second part where your elbow go will cost another $400.

Since they are not local to your place, you will need to take the part out and send to them. Provide the color code from your car and they will match it for you.

Bubble,

How did you remove the rear speaker finisher?
I was able to get the rear side pieces off but can't figure out how to get the piece covering the speakers off.

Thx.

Bubble,

It looks like you got a back up camera too. Any pics of where the camera is placed in the back?

Did you use a fish eye lens to seal it or just cut a hole and exposed the camera?

That is nice Mr. Potter. Are fingerprints a big issue? That is the main reason I am considering leather.
