Default My New 2005 Harness Bar

Decided it was time to replace my prototype harness bar with a current one. I went for a little BLING, and had it nickel plated, and the new aluminum stays were polished. The plating will come in handy as I've got a few things to mount on it, like a billet fire extinguisher/video camera mount & maybe a GPS antenna.

Wow! Very nice. Makes my bar look a little drab now. How much is the nickle plated one?

Thanks zillinois, since I only had the bar plated, not polished, it runs $100.00. I polished the stays on my lathe, so, since I work cheap, only $50.00.

That looks hott! How often do you track your car?

Thanks!

I've got about 20 HPDE's under my belt(s) with my Z. I'm trying to decide how and where to kick off my '05 season. Probably at Road America.

What all does that do for the car? How much does it weigh? Do you still use the stock belts when your not tracking the car?

1) It makes it look cool! Slightly stiffens the chassis.
2) Shipping weight is about 16 pounds for the complete bar. A pair of 6 point cam lock harnesses weigh about 17 pounds.
3) Yes, I can and do still use the OEM belts as Nissan intended when not tracking my Z.

You didn't ask, but the bar allows competition shoulder belts to be installed correctly, preventing spinal compression. The belts hold my shoulders firmly in the seat, allowing me to use my arms to steer instead of using my arms to hold me upright in the seat.

It also allows full seat travel, and is a simple bolt in install.
