I'm interested in a Colored Carbon Fiber Hood for the G35 Coupe. I haven't seen anyone mention the Ivory Pearl. You able to color match with the car cause I don't want a White CF Hood if it's going to be a different color shade from my car, Ivory pearl.?.?.?

I knew it was too goo to be true. Their finish on the latch doesn't look all that great. The actual outside look is decent though.

Most aftermarket hoods (especially carbon fiber) are going to take some work to get them to fit...it's just the way this material is....nothing to do with quality of a certain company.

Admitedly, I'm a newbie when it comes to carbon fiber hoods.. So you can take what ever I say with a grain of salt..and please jump in and tell me if something is "normal" or not..

The latch was actually fine.. It was the 4 mount points that were a little off

note the overlap on passenger side when bolted up..

The hood would not close like this.. The hood is slightly tilted towards the passenger side front.. The holes are probably gonna have to be enlarged via drill or dremel for it to be fit straight. and I'll have to find some larger bolts and washers to make that work.. kinda scary to me that the hood is gonna be mounted like that.. not sure I'm feelin' hoodpins

I scruitinized every inch of the hood and found several imperfections (dirt, slight peeling on corners, broken weave, swirl marks on the clearcoat) but nothing really major .. however, not knowing anything about carbon fiber hoods, I'm not sure if this is normal either...

The hood is also a shade lighter than redline red.. and with the uneven reflections off the carbon fiber it sorta looks like I have an old faded paint hood.. I'm not sure I like that but that's personal taste and nothing to do with the quality of the hood..

here's a garage pic:

EDIT: spelling and grammar

Robert just offered to make me a whole new hood
I've never heard of anyone doing that before.. props to you for trying to make it right!!

but I before you make me another one, I'd like to ask: does any one know how to adjust the hinges on the hood? Is there such an adjustment??

I would also suggest that maybe you get some swatches of CF behind some plexy and put them up next to actual 350Z's ... Admittedly, I jumped in blind and now I feel like a red crimson or a red black might be a better match for a redline red.. but I would like to see some samples as I'm sure everyone here would before they commit to anything..

Carbon fiber is "Black" how or where does one get different colored Carbon?

Are you useing Kevlar weaved with black Carbon Fiber to create a Hybrid like a yellow hood?

And carbon fiber weaved with a polyester material to make red and blue?

thxs.... Edge

The red hood pictured above is actually a dyed fiberglass technical weave. It comes in the silver, red, blue, and gunmetal and a couple others. The weavers usually don't offer the fiberglass dyed yellow because Kevlar is naturally yellow. The red/black, blue/black, orange/black, green/black weaves are hybrids containing color dyed Kevlar and carbon fiber for black. I do not know of any weavers combining carbon and polyester (for color) but that doesn't mean they aren't out there.

I am very interested in the JGTC style hood. But, about the weight. The Carbon Fiber hoods offered here seem a bit hefty at 23lbs. What is the stock hood weight? I would be afraid to add weight or lose nothing since our stock aluminum hoods are so light.
