I'm assuming this is dead, but, did anyone get a hood? I don't want to look back through all the pages but I remember someone ordering one, manufacturing might of been bad, and the guy was going to send out a new one.

Are there any manufacturers out there that can do a combination JGTC style and Do-Luck??

I would buy it immediately!

Yeah, there was one guy who bought a red hood. Not sure what happened to that. Yeah, I was the one pushing for a Do-Luck, JGTC Hood, or a combo of both a while back but I don't think it's ever going to happen. Apparently, it's too pricey to do since you essentially would have to buy a Do-Luck hood to obtain a mold & then modify that. The Do-Luck hood in itself is over $1K. I ended up getting the JGTC hood made my 350ZOnline. You can talk to Paul (Red6) if you're interested. The other alternative is to purchase a Hasemi hood but then that's another hood that cost well over $1K as well. Not sure what happened to this thread or the vendor that was running it. Maybe he'll chime in as well as the person that purchased their hood once he sees there is activity on this thread.

I still have the red hood in my closet.. one of these days I'll get it fitted by a body shop and sprayed candy apple red to make it darker..

Well, it only took me about a year but I finally got my red carbon fiber hood installed LOL.. After fussing with it for a couple of hours last year (fit was pretty bad) I finally brought it to a body shop (who was also doing my NISMO side skirts).. They were able to get it on in about 3 hours..

but the hood looks pretty good!!! definately unique anyways.. I'm glad I didn't give up on it.. In daylight, the hood is actually an almost spot on match for the redline color but you can see the glimmer of the red carbon fiber. <--pretty cool

At night, the hood looks a little bit lighter than the car.

These pics were all taken by friends and not by me..

close up of hood vs. bumper

farther shot of hood vs. bumper .. you can sorta tell the hood is a teeny bit short.. to close it, you have to press down hard on top of the latch..

the hood in daylight

dark action shot LOL

It was $525 shipped all the way from CA to MA.. I think Robert said you can pick the hood up locally to save the shipping charge...

The hood wouldn't fit at all when i first tried it last year but with some coaxing by the body shop guys, it does fit decently... I mean you can see from the 3rd pic that it's not bad at all in it's final state.. very acceptable for an aftermarket CF hood..

I was at a car meet last weekend (1st time with hood) and I didn't know what the reaction would be but people loved the hood above all else on the car LOL..

FYI you can subscribe to a thread without posting. That is, unless you're just not trying to bump your post count.

All you have to do is use PPG Candy or House of Kolor Kandy to get color to the CF. Candy paints need a base b/c they are tinted clear coats. Without the base, the CF will show right through but the lighter weaves will take the color. I've also heard that you can take the color of your car and mix it with clear to obtain a transparent paint that CF will show through. You don't have to buy a colored hood to have 1.
