Default Veilside Version 1 people COME IN!!!!!!!!

Anyone here with the Veilside kit have issues with their side wings?

my stuff is already hacked up on the side wings.
right around where i marked it.

if they are hacked up what are you guys doing about it,

I'm thinking about having somone do some clear bra stuff on the pieces so it won't do this any more.

If you guys did install a clear protective film, how is it holding up?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

i went through two sets. each time at least one piece broke off on the highway and i ran over it. each set was carbon fiber. i suggest really really making sure their on tight even using glue along with the screws.

Dude tell me about it.

My front's are ok since they were coated and not painted completely under the body.

As far as the rears:
Mines are rock chipped on each side. Every once and awhile I have to touch it up with some extra SS paint the body shop gave me from painting my front lip.

I was thinking of repainting and re-coating but it's not worth it since one side is cracked a little. Might possibly be from Dealer's car lift but its more under the car so I'm not too concerned about it. I hate Fiberglass when it starts cracking, everything goes to hell.

I got a good deal on these used so I don't think I'll do anything to remedy the problem. Maybe pick up some other type of sideskirts in the near future.

I had to go to Home Depot to find elongated screws. Using that in conjunction with rubber washers, the fins are on there REEAAALLY tight.

The guy who sold me his sideskirts had them clear coated pretty thick. Probably a tad bit thicker than OEM paint so the fronts repelled pebbles pretty well.

The reason why the back skirts are getting hacked up is because the skirts weren't painted completely. They left the under attachment portion that can't be seen, upainted. The separating seam between the painted and unpainted portion caused the paint to be vulnerable and chip easier right there. Otherwise, I'm sure the clear coat would have held up pretty well, had the whole wing been painted.

I don't know how you could 3m clear film those edges. Maybe a couple good layers of clear coat would suffice.

my front had a paint crack around the center and side divider, since I scrape them.. so I repainted them and put clear film on it.. it should be fine now..

Yeah... mine have little knicks on them from road debris.. pretty normal. I would rather get some new skirts than repaint these though... Most people never even notice the skirts.
