Can someone tell me, what exactly am I asking for and where do I get it done. Are these black tail lights replacements or are they just a black film that is applied by a window tinter? I am confused.
I have a SB and am very interested.
Also, can the clear back up light slit gels be black-out as well?
Thanks for the help.

This is a spray-on application. You need to go to www.350z -tech.com and PM Toykilla to talk to him about doing it. This is the process he uses:

Sorry, I cannot post a link because this site will not allow it. Instead, copy and paste the www.350z -tech.com and take out the space after the z and before the hyphen.

Thanks StudBud, I already have printed it out and read it over. Sounds easy to do, but I am thinking about taking it to a detailer and seeing what they would charge, I don't want to invest in an orbital sander.
I checked out your domain, looks good and I like the tinted tail-lights alot. A definite must do on my SB.

RE: tinted taillights
Not jumping here to make a plug, actually more out of curiosity....
why didn't you pursue adhesive vinyl smoked (or tinted) covers? I mean thick (17mil - clear bra quality) vinyl, not window tint-quality thin stuff.
It's a DIY mod (a bit more challenging on rounded lenses like G35s have but still a DIY mod), inexpensive ($18-60 in most cases) AND, if you ever decide you want to change your look (or your local traffic cops suddenly decide they want to stop people with smoked lenses) you can peel the stuff off. Can't do that with spray-on.
I've been surfing this forum for the past couple of days and there does seem to be a lot of interest in this tinted lenses thing. (A G35 owner bought some from us - that's what got me back here surfing). Hmmm... maybe we should become a sponsor?
(Other subie photos here - FYI.

I did have vinyl tint on my 350z. It isn't near the quality of having them sprayed. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten them sprayed the first time and saved my money. They vinyl is great, and it peeled off the minute I wanted it off the light, but the quality was poor compared to the spray. I still have vinyl on my lower bumper lenses actually. In my opinion, it's better looking to go with the spray.
www.lamin-x.com sells the best overlay for our cars though. It's what I had on there, and I've applied it and bluebatmobile's overlays, and the ones from lamin-x were much thicker and twice as easy to apply.

All these pix look awesome I had tried vinyls on my RX8 and it was miserable.. the tails are waaaay too round to do with vinyl, so I did some research and found some translucent black paint called NITESHADE and ordered 2 cans off jegs or some site for 15 a can. This paint is sick because you can DIY, make it as dark or light as you want. All you have to do is get 800, 1000, and 2000 grit sand paper and any clear coat. sand down your lights with 800 or 1000 so paint will stick. then tape off the part of the light you DONT want oversprayed, and apply the NiteShade in light coats(remember the number of coats you do to each light so they are even). Once you reach the level of darkness you want, let that dry. Go over with 2000 grit lightly so the clear will stick. I did 4 coats of black on my tails of my 8, then bought clear corner markers, and did 8 coats on those(they were DARK)
So Cal has had a large amount of rain randomly as of late, so I havent attempted to paint in the humidity, but I plan on doing this on my PPW Z.
Ill post pix of my 8 to show quality...Also in the pic is my boys Cobalt SS which got the same treatment
