I hate to say this...
But trade it in for another color? Possibly one of the silvers or white? The paint will still chip under any normal driving condition but it won't be nearly as noticeable as black.
If you want to be safer 3m coat the bumper, or have it sprayed with an extra coat of clear just to make it tougher.
You'll probably take a few grand hit, but it'd probably be the same cost difference as getting it painted.
But then again a custom paintjob with candy red/ Brandywine would look killer.
I'm not helping am I?

$6000- thats how much mine was..+enginebay. So I'd say 6000 for the candy paintjob with out the enginebay since candy paint costs more. Just never drive it because candy paint is impossible to match if you need to repaint it.

well it depends how you want the car prepped. if you want it sanded down to the metal and than primered, than it's gonna cost a lot more. if you have them just sand the clearcoat, primer it, than spray it, than it's relatively cheaper.
from what i've seen (working at bodyshops before), people have had a lot of success painting over the factory paint, it's when you've painted the car several times is when it starts to peel and chip.
