Get either the OEM or NISMO spoiler, spoilers direct the air flow from the car and actually stop the air from u-turning and creating drag on the rear of the car to slow it down.

man...that damn nismo spoiler is a confusing topic. I cant decide if thats the best looking spoiler that is actually big enough to notice (as opposed to the aero kit) or if there will be better ones. Then I think, well, maybe I like how understated the factory one is!

honestly tho i wouldn't be getting the spoiler for performance that's why the nismo kit is out of the question. i know the 350Z's *** is pretty big so i was just trying to decide whether i liked the oem spoiler or not (i do from side view i think) but sometimes it kind of looks like it was just glued on to the car and looks out of place so i'll have to decide. i honestly don't think the oem spoiler does very much for performance/down-force i mean it helps but its kinda just a gimmick or to give it a sportier look. haha i remember on mustangs all those creases an spoilers and stuff actually slowed down the mustang and when one of the car magazines like motor trend were trying to get a top speed they ended up duct taping over all that stuff and removing all the extra plastic crap...

I have found very fewer spoilers that look good on any car and the Z is no exception. I'm all about the clean look. Or you could just go total rice and put one of those Supra wings on or better yet how about a superbird wing.

If your thinking of lowering the car an inch dont bother with the front spoiler, or even if you dont plan on driving fast. It basicaly just to make the car lower and have less air running under it, ofcourse if your going fast and get turned sideways you'll probably take off like a plane's wing even without the little spoiler in the front. I personaly like the way the wing on the back looks.

My rear spoiler is all about finishing the lines off in the rear...its small enough to add not detract from the Z..just my .02

Cool Aero kit/spoiler

Mine just arrived Dec 9. It was supposed to come with aero kit but unfortunately(???) did not. I like it both ways so this will give me time to decide. Just my 2 cents.

IMHO, the spoiler doesn't add anything to the Z and detracts from the clean lines. Just stand back and look at the line below the window and how it blends with the tail lights at the back. A spoiler would run the look.

However, I understand those people that plan on running on a track at 125 and their need for downforce. I'm content to cruise and enjoy myself.

Default Spoilers

There are many spoilers out there. I would definitely suggest a spoiler for the downforce reasons (better grip at higher speeds for traction, tire to ground). Downforce is rated at 50lbs at 60mph.
Front spoiler is great for smoother airflow under the car body, which leads to less resistance.

I've got the factory one and I like it. It's suttle and not over the top like those ricers that have humungous rear spoilers for FW drive cars, hah!

Nismo has got a nice spoiler. Aero kit is nice to.

I'll probably get an aero kit, and if I do, I might consider a new spoiler if it doesn't look too over the top.

So, if you like looks and performance like me, make sure your choice takes both of these points into consideration.

peace out...

It is all personal opinion and the goals you have with the car. I bought my car to do one thing with it and it was to take it to car shows. I could of got a higher model with everything but the kitchen sink, but I knew I would be changing all of it anyways for car shows. If you don't plan to get an aftermarket body kit and you need sometime of spoiler then go factory. If plan on modifing the car then I would look aftermaket. The car will also stand out more if you have a differnet spoiler than the factory one. Some people like this some don't.

Just my 2 cents...

thanks,
Greg

I have had a rear spoiler on every car that I have owned EXCEPT my 350Z. I specifically did not want it because I feel that it detracts from the smooth lines of the car. And that NISMO spoiler is horrible - just my two cents, but with Z, less is more.

The Z needs a spoiler for my tastes...too "EGG" in the back without it.
