All you LED signal peeps...
OK, I have been thinking about getting LED signals (to replace factory locations), but I keep hitting the same quesiton....where do I mount the load equalizers? I was just going to leave them hanging behind the rear bumper, but I am concerned that they might touch something and melt it (they get real hot right?). Also, I don't want to have to pull the bumper cover just to mount some tiny thing like that. Where have all of you mounted them?

if your worried about heat; grab some thermal epoxy, its used in PCs, www.newegg.com should have it. and mount it to whatever peice of metal you can find. itll help cool it and keep it from wandering. probably wont ever come off though(in 1 peice anyway); so be sure you like its spot.
otherwise; Id just use some regular epoxy on a metal spot; and Id assume itll stay cool enough which Id bet it will. Ive never used one personally to say how hot it will get; its dissipating about as much energy as a 21w bulb; so about that much heat; shouldnt be a huge issue.

For the fronts I installed mine just behind the top of the headlight assembly, there is kind of a shelf behind each headlight assembly that works out great that they just sit on. For the rears, I removed the tail lights to gain access to the open area. On each side of the rear there is a metal tab from the body with a hole in it. I just used nylon zip ties and and zip tied the equalizer to it using the wires so it securely hangs back there in mid air to avoid any melting damage from the heat. Be careful with your placements, after about 15 seconds of it being on, these things are HOT! Good luck.
