Default Scissors style doors

What would go in to converting a normal door to a scissor style (like the lamborgini) door? I've seen kits and applications on other cars where people have done it. How would that differ from something like the Mclaren F1 has where it goes up and forward at an angle?

I saw it done on a mustang, the kit cost 5 grand in that case, not sure if it was custom or if thats something anyone with 5grand can go buy.

either way, cool-definitly; worth the cash, hell no, but hey if you got the dough, may as well enjoy it. Id look into a reputable shop that has done such a mod in the past to another car and would be willing to do a custom mod for you.

Its a custom job. This modification to the doors is major. Will run you about 5 - 7K depending on the shop.

Also, by doing this, its all for show. This will add tremedous weight to the car.

But hey, if u have the money and wants to sacrifice your performance, go ahead.

i had gone to three differnt custom body works shops with the sae question. How much and how fast could i have suicide doors(lambo style)?..there was 2 responses, one guy told me he could do it, it would be 4 grand but it would require major work and maybe even diminish the structural integrity of the car . the ther two guys told methe same thing,. That is too heavy of a job and the cas tructure wouldnt be the same after the project and they would refuse to take such a risk under their wings, insurance reasons.
