The six ohm resistor will draw 2 watts, the rear light bulb will draw 5 or 6 and the LED bulb in front will draw about 1 watt for a total of 8-9 watts and the sensors are happy.
The 3 ohm resistor will draw 4 watts, and the two LED bulbs will draw 2 watts for a total of 6 watts and the sensors are happy.

Do your homework.

I don't know if those are replacable. It would be highly illegal to change those to a different color.....

boma: I don't want to change them to a different color, I just like the instant on and off of leds.

all this talk of the brake lights not being bright enough,
has anyone tried using white LEDs in the brake light? They would definitely be brighter (white light is visually brighter than red), and the red lense will make them appear red on the outside anyway
im going to order white leds, and see how they go

Let us know how they go. I didn't since the site recommends red LEDs for brake lights. Maybe the colour might be off since white leds sometimes seem blueish.
And yes Roger V, the third brake light strip is LEDs... clear that light up red.

Hey everyone, I'm still pretty new to the forum but I had an LED question. I read at one point that someone had a parking light LED melt since it's in the headlight housing but haven't come across any other problems. Has anyone else with parking light LEDs experienced any sort of problem like that? Thanks in advance.

I make my own LED automotive bulbs. For the parking lights, it will only melt when there's a bad short with the circuit inside the plastic wedge. The cheapo bulbs tend to "fall apart" easily so bits of solder or wire might get caught between the + and - terminals and cause a melt down inside.
