Default Carbon Fiber Hoods

who makes the best quality cf hoods that are direct bolt-on with no prepping and best fitment?

how much are they?

i am not planning to paint so quality of the look is critical. also, is there more clearance inside the hood vs stock?

i am not looking for a hood thats not too busy....maybe a scoop but mostly similar to stock would be adequate.

thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions....vendors would be cool too

Pretty much with CF hoods you get what you pay for... I highly recommend doing your homework on companies. Look for good clear coat, rolled edges, UV protection, weave, rigid skeleton, oem fitment, wet/dry carbon.

I have never seen a "perfect" carbon fiber hood, but VIS comes pretty close. (sometimes.)

thats what is so hard....you can't really tell by pictures. the best way is to hear feedback from the people who have owned them before.

i agree you get what you pay for....but which companies are the top of the line when it comes to cf hoods?

I would say your JDM ones are VERY high quality (TopSecret, INGS) but VERY pricey. VIS is good too.. and of course I'd recomend siebon.. since I own one.

Stay away from VIS racing. I will never ever see another VIS product dropped at my door again. Their CF hood lasted a year beforee it started to fade. Before you know it I had a dry CF hood.(thats what I told people)

My Vis Racing hood is also faded and fitment is poor. Carbon Fiber should not fade if it has a good clear coat on it. Looking into Seibon for the next hood pretty soon.

can you guys explain the process of the install...any parts from the old hood needed to be transferred to the new or not?

A wil add to the echo that VIS sucks. I have seen numerous hoods...all different cars, and you wont how some of that stuff leaves the factory.

I like Seibon for wet carbon, or the JDM stuff for the dry carbon.

We have a hood that fits perfect and is good quaility in carbon fiber and Fiberglass.

The carbon Fiber is clear coated with UV marine grade resin so they will not fade.

The hoods also provide function with reverse Vented louvers to cool the 350Z's hot engine bay .

Pm us for special my350z.com pricing .

Pics are below.

seibon hoods are supper easy to install! Pull off the nuts remove oem hood put new hood on. I put a washer under the head of the bolt just as inssurance that the bolt didn't go too far. You'll also want to have some one else to help you.
