Default Oem Hid

I just recently pick up a base model 2005 350z without OEM HID. I would like know if I am looking for OEM HID kit for my car, do I have to look for OEM HID kit from a 2005 or any years is fine?

I also have a base model and wanted to upgrade my headlights to HID's from the standard ones. A friend of mine that has a 350Z (enthusiast model), was in an accident which damaged the headlight and broke the plastic housing. I was wondering if there was a way to get the "guts" out of the damaged xenon headlight and put it in my own and then buy another xenon headlight assembly, or just the "guts" to round out the pair. I would perfer to have the OEM assembly instead of an aftermarket.

I have an 04 base and changed to HID bulbs to d2r and have the ballast attached on the base of the headlight. It's more brighter than the halogen ones. but make sure you adjust the height of your headlights also so that it's not pointing downwards

I wanted to answer this one when you first posted it up, but wasn't sure of the answer... no one has addressed it yet, but I believe that any (03-05) 350Z OEM setup should work with your installation. It is just ballasts and bulbs, so I can't see what dramatic changes could have been made to the HID lighting setup. Contact Jun on this board for a quality OEM kit with detailed instructions for a good price.

Default Hope This Helps

The OEM HID lights are going to be expensive. I have used McCulloch HID Kits on three of my cars and plan to do the same for my current Z. They are around $300 a kit and you have 4-5 color temps to choose from. You can order them on ebay, there is a seller there that I have bought 4 sets from. Just search "McCulloch HID" and you will find him.
These kits are really nice and work greta. I never had any issues with them.

Hope this helps.
