Default Dash Kits?? Who would want one

Out of curiosity, who would want some dash accents or peices on their car. I starting making some for the Avenger Folks this week and they came out great.

please no comments about the tred plate.....the customer wanted it, "what was I supposed to say.....NO?"

I could do whatever material you want in whatever thickness. Can prolly get my hands on some .024" thick stainless, aluminum or yes..........titanium. Also some plastic backed metal for easy application.

Give me your ideas, opinions etc.

Thanks
SCott

Looks like really high quality construction, although I'll be the first one to jump in that guys car and say "WTF?!?"

Brushed aluminum for the Z's 3 gauge pods or for tach outline, something like that might be kinda saucy... I can't think of anywhere that I would just wanna cover in a different material.

heres my rules, dont know how much you can do.

I would take peices in a brushed aluminum (possibly titanium depending on cost) if they replace the stock peices, the peices that come to mind off the bat is the cluster area, actually thats the only peice I think you could do...

other peices Id like but dont think you can do would be handles inside and out, and the ring around the base of the shifter. also the passenger door has that extra handle with metal on it.

basicly I want anything that has fake metal to be real brushed aluminum.

not real interested in replacing the fake carbon fiber peices for the same reason I dont like the dodge bit you have there, just too shiny and bright for the car. but hey, if you create it all, we could buy it by the peice right? if someone else wants the dash peices, more power to them.

Oh crap! They just put a Nissan badge on the front of a miata and replaced the back bumper badge too! Man, I guess I was just a sucker thinking that I got delivery on August 1st... D'oh...

Okay, no, seriously, I was thinking about replacing the pieces that Nissan installed with an actual piece of metal. I want a lil bit of shine and sparkle (not to mention everyone knows that true aluminum interior parts add 3-30 HP & 18ft/lb torque!)

Guys,

What parts do you think are metal and what do you think are not metal.

After getting in the car on cold mornings, here is my impression on real and not real:

REAL METAL:
Trim around main instrument cluster
Trim on steering wheel
Gear Indicator on 6MT
Interior Door opening handles

PLASTIC MASQUERADING AS METAL:
All the little "O's" around the small instrument cluster
All the little "O's" around the temperature gauges
All the little "O's" around the outboard vents

DON'T REMEMBER/NOT SURE:
Large "O" that covers base of gear shift boot
Trim on passenger "oh ****" handle

It seems to me like most of the components are already metal. I based my classifications on the heat transfer when touching the components on cold days, when the metal feels much colder than the plastic. Not the most scientific, so what do you guys think?

I think there isnt a single peice of metal in the whole list except for the shift pattern peice.

no scientific reasoning, just a hunch.

N74DV,

I agree about the exterior door handles, but what makes you think the interior ones are plastic?

Westpack,

Those kickplates bug me, too. The first time I washed my car I got water under them, and then when I tried to dry them out by running my towel over the top, bits of towel got stuck under there too. Poopy!

I'd like to see some dash/console brushed alum that would replicate the concept car.......I begged Nissan to leave that treatment intact for the production car but guess what....
