DRIVING FROM CHICAGO TO FLORIDA: HOW CAN I PROTECT AFTERMARKET FRONT BUMPER?

as the title says.. im moving to florida from chicago... so i need a way to protect my aftermarket front end from rock chips and dents. i have the stock bumper with a veilside v1 urethane lip on it. any suggestions or ideas? the oem nose mask does not fit....

i was thinking of just making something.. perhaps out of a thick blanket or something... to wrap around the front end.

masking tape works, we use it for going to long distance car shows and stuff. nothing near that distance though. maybe a few layers. works out well too cause it just peels right off.

Ok, go to home depot and buy A LOT of painters tape. It isn't very sticky so it won't remove your paint, leave any residue, or strip your wax. It works great! It usually comes in blue, purple, green, or tan.

Nah, I do this all the time. It's great if you're going to the track or an auto x event.

Try reading...he has an aftermarket bumper and the bra won't fit it. Besides, sand and grit gets inside the bra and while you're driving it vibrates and flaps in the wind, effectively sanding the paint off your bumper.

ok guys... so the blue painters tape seems like the consensus opinion. i figure i should cover the entire front bumper, the front of the hood, and the side mirrors, correct? how many layers would you reccomend?

so my dumb idea of modifying a blanket wont be going into effect... dammit!

2-3 layers...as much as you think is necessary. If you're really weary of chips you may wanna do the front of your roof too. You know what...just cover the whole car. LOL
