Default Need Help - Defi controller 2 install

I am setting up the water & oil Temp gauges with Defi Controller 2. Facing problem with the install for the controller 2....

this guy tried to wire up the controller. He had difficulty finding the right wire to tap to the headlights [so that the Defis dim when the headlights are on...] eventually he wired it directly to the headlight. The power and ignition wires were tapped around the steering wheel column using a multimeter.

My car wouldn't start after. Apparently he short circuited my ECM & IPDM !!!!
Nissan had it fixed after cutting the Defi power & igniton wires.

Can someone pls tell me where can i tap power for the 3 Defi wires....
1] power
2] ignition
3] headlights

hopefully.... i Do not blow another ECU.

Thanks!

You should be able to get all three from behind the radio. Definitely power and ignition. I personally connected the light wire into ignition so that it always lights up bright....but if you want it to work with your dimmer...I'm unsure of the wire color that is used on the harness for the radio.

If you have a meter, you can test voltage on each wire. The way to find which one the dimmer is to stick the prong into each hole on the plug, and then adjust the dimmness. As the light goes brighter on your dash, the voltage should get higher..or if you make it less bright, the voltage should go down.

Thanks... this is the research i've done so far from the technical CD i have..

Wire harness "M40" white colour [behind the audio unit]
Terminal 6 [yellow] is power
Terminal 10 [light green] is ACC
Terminal 7 [Red / Blue] or Terminal 8 [red / yellow] is for lighting

anyone free to confirm if this is right?

well cigarett lighter is red black. red-ingition, black-ground, behind the radio the fat all yellow wire=memory=+12volt battery wire, and then illumination should be the light green one with the little strip down it. if you use wire taps you can verify the illumination wire, and if doesnt work you can always remove it. but im 99% positive thast the color! Best of luck!

sup man, well you gotta remove the center counsel and then you unhook the upper 3 gauges. be careful there tight in a harness clip. then you peal the housing forward. and then you gotta unplug them from the radio. ITS A ***** but you can def get it done. then the harness is exposed right there for you to work with. if your really shaky on this install perhaps if you want you can swing buy and i can help ya install it for some lunch money! but regardless if you got the will ill help ya through the install

ps, what oil adpater did you buy ?
