Default Nismo Shift *****?

I am looking to replace my stock shift **** cause it is pretty worn out in 3 days. the dealer said they would do it for free. I am comtemplating which Nismo to go with....I have seen all the pics in forum of what they look like on the car. I like the Nismo Titanium but am very concerned about the heat factor. Is it as bad as what everyone says. I if it is, I am looking at the black rubber GT or just replacing with a new stock one. Any ideas of which one I should go with?....Thanks in advance for your input.

Heat is a factor for virtually any **** when left in direct sunlight. This goes for the stock leather one or a Nismo titanium one, although the severities will be somewhat different. You can always cover your **** when parking in direct sunlight, or get one of those sun shades to protect from heat entering directly into your car (on to the shift **** area). The black rubber GT is also a nice selection, but I'd still advise the same protection when parked where direct sunlight will be on the **** itself.

I had the Nismo Titanium GT on my car for a while. I'm using Clint's SS **** now.

Yes the heat is going to be there if it's in the sun, but it really hasn't bothered me too much. The plate of the top of the stock **** is definitely way worse than the Nismo or Clint's ****.

If heat is an issue, I'd go with a leather wrapped **** or the Nismo rubber ****.

I have a UTR Ti **** and it gets just as hot as any chrome **** ive had in the past. Buy a rubber **** or dont forget your hat would be my suggestion. Got to love that So Cal sun shine.

I have the Nismo TI **** and love it. Shift feel is much improved over stock, and it looks a hell of a lot nicer. Heat is a hassle tho, in 85+ weather this thing will burn your hand but just put a hat over the top and problem solved.

I have the Nismo nub **** (the super-small one) in black. I was introduced to it by a friend who uses it in his GT-R, so I figured if it's good enough for a 500hp Skyline, it's good enough for my lowly 300hp Z.

It's plastic in construction, has absolutely no metal on it to burn my hands on a hot SoCal day, and is the most cost-friendly Nismo shift **** there is.

Performance Nissan has it for $37.

Other than the fact that it's about the only one that doesn't burn your hands, it also supports a variety of shifter-grip styles. You can hold it from the top, the side, pistol-grip it, use a couple of fingers, use the flared bottom as a handle, ring it with your fingers, thread it through your fingers... you'll FIND new ways to shift w/ it! I love it, and it even goes all the way down to the OE shift boot in the Z, so that there's no silly "aftermarket-shift-**** boot/**** gap."

Default Tomei

Try Tomei. Its made of Duracon and it does not get very hot. It is comfotable also.Check the shift **** thread for more choices and reviews+pictures on Nismo and other brands if you have not done that yet.

I have the Nismo black aluminum one. If left in the direct sun, it does get pretty hot. Nothing unbearable tho.

I have the Nismo Black Resin one. Its an extremely small ****, a lot smaller than I expected. I didn't even put it on for probably 8 months after I got it because I thought it would look stupid. Finally put it on and it looks and feels pretty good, and doesn't get hot.

That said, it's a little TOO small for my liking and I think I will switch to the TK or ARC **** and just deal with the AZ heat. I used to be a firefighter so I'm used to being burnt.
