Default MOMO/Nissan Steering wheel?

I saw this picture from a post a long time ago. I hear it is only available in Japan as an option. Anyone know if I can get this here in the US? Can anyone import it?

That's pretty sweet. I wouldn't mind having one of those.

that does look pretty good, but you lose cruise control and all that, plus the stock steering wheell looks jsut fine

btw, do you still get the airbag with this steeringwheel?

I read about this a while back ago & have been looking around as well. Yes, you do retain the airbags for this wheel. No cruise control since you'll never have a long enough drive in Japan to even need to use it (this is a JDM spec wheel). To be honest, I've never needed to use mine as well & we have plenty of roads here that you can use it on. Let me know what you find. BTW... I heard this wheel is quit pricey though since it comes with the air bags.

GOOD LUCK! I have searched HIGH & LOW to try and find someone to import it and no one can do it. I searched for about 3 months and the only way to get it is to have someone go to Japan and bring it back with them. Even then, when you get it back in the US you can't ship UPS, FedEx, or DHL b/c it is considered Hazardous Materials. I wanted one of these sooooo bad, but I have since just given up. BTW, it costs about $615 just for the steering wheel. I figured once you got it to your door step it would end up costing you about $1K.

Let me know if you can find a way to get one and I'll pay you extra to get me one.

Nissan Japan will not sell it any longer unless they install it at an authorized dealer

I have never understood why Nissan-USA does not offer the 2 types of optional MOMO steering wheels in the US ...

I have the MOMO version 1 shown in the picture above (ordered as an option when purchasing the Z) .. and it feels so much better than stock .. as well as being smaller than stock.

well... i think u will lose the airbag if u go for these JDM wheels
the SRS wiring is different from the U.S. model
the JDM one has only one SRS wire but in North America we have two wires for the SRS ( yellow and orange .. for what i remember!)

so after all u may have the steering wheel in but u still lose the airbag
why not just get an aftermarket momo wheel!

if you go back and search there are people in the US that have this wheel on their car without a problem - we even sold a couple before Nissan put the squash on it

Nissan squashed it .. ??!!?? I wonder for what reason.

I hope you guys can get it .. a GREAT upgrade. Could not be happier with the feeling of this steering wheel .. even compared to non-airbag wheels on the market.

If I were back in the US .. I would be searching for any way possible to get it.
