Yep, I've wanted this kit ever since I got my Z. The main reasons that people don't buy it are: a) The real thing is VERY expensive and takes forever to have shipped. and b) People don't want to take a chance with a replica.
I'm going to take my chance with a replica. I have a hard time rationalizing paying $3-3.5k for the real thing and a solid paint job. I know I can have the whole replica done well for $2k at most.

I urge you to wait though. If I had it to do over I would get urethane. I know they dont make it in urethane but you should just get something else.
I drive knowing I will eventually crack this thing and when I do I will just get something better in urethane.
damn, that sucks. is there any other way to reinforce the front lip? Like enamel or something?
My kit is probably still going to be put on. Its wierd, I tried fitting it in my garage again, and its like it fit 80% better than before.

I'm not sure if you can even buy the authentic LX hybrid front lip by itself. I've only seen the kit for sale as a package. Maybe I'll have to ask around about it. Thing is, I'm fairly certain the hybrid front lip alone will cost more than the entire replica kit.
Seriously ahahha. Anyway--is there anyway to reinforce the front? My car scrapes coming out of gas stations already, so I can't imagine where I'd be able to go with the full lip kit.
Anywho...let me know.

Joust,
Your car looks fuggin gangsta.
I know this sounds nuts but this is a good tip for those concerned with doing too much damage to your front bumper:
Go to your local skateboard/ surf shop and buy the surf wax, or skateboarding wax. Heat that stuff up with an iron and apply it underneath your bumper where it would normally come into contact with driveways and what not.
This assures that if you're ever backing out or going INTO a driveway, it does not create enough friction to flex your bumper and crack it. It will break loose and slide a little on the pavement with that wax underneath it. Not to mention, concrete can act like sand paper on your clearcoat and paint.
I know many who have lost their bumpers, so trust me.

Got my replica today. I only opened the front lip, it looks decent except for a small hole a little smaller than an eraser tip. It's extremely thin though. I'm thinking there will be a good amount of prep going into this...
