How come so many don't shine their tires when taking a pic?

Thanks, well aware of that, that is why I put the tire shine when light out so I can see that it only goes on the side.

Yeah, I don't use the sponge that comes attached to it, you can't control the spread. I ususally snap off that sponge and use it just as a gel. I take another tire sponge and apply the gel on the sponge so I can control exactly the amount of gel I put on. I suggest you do the same if you want to have total control of the spread. I only use black magic because that is the only gel at my store. everything else is spray and foam.

I just use original armorall on a terry cloth to wipe them down and clean the gunk off. It doesn't actually shine them, it gives them a smooth, clean look.

I tire shine my tires every time I wash my car, but the sponge applicator is definitely the best way to go. And after you start shining them they always do have to be shined or they look crappy, .

This is the way to do it, IMO. I buy the 2inch ones at Walmart for $0.20 each. I've been using the meguire's spray as opposed to the spray can. Just spray a little on the brush and paint away. I usually let it dry then do 1 more round if it's not to my liking. I think its better than the eagle applicator because you can just toss'em out when you're done.

First step is to brush/clean the tar/dirt off the tires or the shine won't last that long no matter what you use...
