One of my friends wasn't too thrilled about seeing my car when I mentioned that it was yellow.

Then he saw it. He thinks that the color is very nice, and is one of the best yellows that he has ever seen -- not that he will be getting a yellow car any time soon.

It was either a base yeller or PPW, whichever I could get the best price on...

I owned a yellow car once ('00 S4). I got it because it was one of 2 colors that were only offered on the S models (the other being the Nagano (? been awhile, not sure if thats the name) blue, which was too close to the World Rally Blue the Subaru I also had at the time was. I can't say I'd ever get another one...like someone posted above, it just does not fit me at all, and it stood out too much for my own tastes. It is a very nice color up close as far as colors go, just not to everyone's tastes.

It's your car, you have to drive it every day. As long as you like it, who cares what other people think?

UY isnt me either though i own one. If i flt evertone said "hey theres allen in his yellow Z" i wouldnt own it. I bought it bc i think yellow and the Z go well together and i got tired of people blind lane changing and not seeing me. Now people tend to pay tons of attention to MY CAR but not me myself. Eh maybe its hard to explain.

I drive an 04 Scion xB...

Im about 600% sure any hazing I get for a UY Z, in two months, will be a joke in comparison...

So my answer to the initial post is the same I used to answer all those who degraded my purchase of the box, "...and thats why I have the keys, not you."

A car, too me, is more than transportation and I see many of you feel the same. A car can be a hobby, a passion, a form of expression or, all of the above. Never let someone tell you what to buy and never let someone make you feel less confident in your purchase. You purchased your car, whether it be an xB or a UY Z, for your own personal reasons.

I haven't even purchased my Z yet, but I know every morning, usually afternoon, when I wake up and leave for work Ill smile ear to ear and get the same short breath feeling I do when I see it in the show room. Let me remind you, you own a 350Z.

People will tell you they don't care what other people think, but you have to admit that when you buy a car like the Z you want other people to like it.

I was just a little shocked about the negativity and wanted to know what other Z pilots thought.

Yeah, you probably don't hear many positives about the box.

It's way better than the xA, though. The xB has its own interesting appeal. Inexpensive, lots of space, unique...

Well, personally, I really DON'T care what other people think. When I told my co-workers I was buying a white Z, a couple of them said, "That's a nice car, but I don't like white". They started suggesting other colors I should get instead. A couple of people even suggested that I should get a G instead of a Z. I just laughed at them. It's my car. If they don't like it, they can go buy their own.
