Now you have me doubting cutting my fenders...

If the heat gun/fender roller works, shouldn't the ol' towel/baseball bar or mallet with heat gun work?

It does work, its just much "ghetto'er" and un-uniform.

can someone post of a pic of fender cutting? Seems like a good alternative only if it doesn't end up all jagged.

I have a fender roller and heat gun for rent as well. PM for me details.

Its easy to do, anyone can do it. Just take your time, be patient and use the heat gun or your paint will crack.

Make sure you use that heat gun....heat and patience are the most important things or else you WILL crack your paint.

Use the heat gun and keep it about 2-3 inches away from the paint. Keep moving it back and fourth in a 5-6 inch area until the paint is hot to the touch. Be careful that you don't melt the paint and make it bubble though (takes A LOT of heat to do that).

Alright guys. I have just rolled my fenders. Their is good news and bad news:

-Good news: Rolled them in all the way and managed to pull the fenders a bit for more clearance.(New wheels have very aggressive offset.)

-Bad news: I have used the heat gun and some paint did manage to crack. On the driver's side it is not too cracked. Only in one small part. In the passenger side their is a 6 inch wide crack on the fold. Gotta visit the body shop to fix this.

How much am i looking to spend to fix the chipped paint?

To "correctly" fix they'd have to strip and re-paint...which would cost well over $1000 at a good body shop. Just throw some touch-up paint on there and you should be just fine.

When you were rolling the fenders....did you go really slow and only do small sections at a time?

I would say i went a bit faster on the passenger side(30 mins) but the paint is just so extremely delicate.

$1000 is alot! When they hit my brother's fender he had a big chunk of paint chipped off and the fix was only $200! The job came out flawless as well. I'll have to go back to this shop.
