Default Nismo decals...applying?

Has anyone applied the Nismo badges/decals to the car? Either on the hood or the rear/both? What package of decals do you recommend, and how hard was it...I'm new to this body work stuff, so any help is wanted..lol

Read the sticky on applying Vinyl overlays at the top of the page; installation of the Nismo graphics will be very similar, just on a bit larger scale. Good to have a friend to help you. If you're afriad of messing up, it shouldn't cost much to have them professionally applied.

if you're really scared to put the decals on? some simple green and water mixture, and then a flexible creditcard/squeegie should help you get the sticker aligned correctly... just spray the body and the back of the sticker place on, squeegie, let dry, remove the top sticker then u're set.

I used the raised letter Nismo decal on the right rear of my Z opposite the 350Z badge. I think the raised letters look better than the regular Nismo decals.

Raised ones? I have never seen those. I would really like to get my hands on a pair. Where did you get yours from? I haven't seen any on eBay, or may be I missed 'em.

As Roger V stated above mynismo.com has them as do most Nissan dealers. The raised letter decals are more expensive than the regular Nismo decals ($6 to $9 depending on where you get them), but they are worth the extra cost. They are actually separate letters held together by the cover so when they are applied they maintain the proper spacing and are not connected to each other.

I got my first one in a gift bag from my local Nissan dealer when the dealer hosted my our club's (the Emeral City Z Club) show in June of 2004. I have several more since then.

These are the Nismo decals with raised letters. Not sure if the other packages you linked to above include the raised letters of not. Call Jason or Andy and I am sure they can tell you.

Does the background color matter?

If you mean the background that the letters come on no. The key is what color do you want the letters to be on your car. My car is blue. I wanted the silver Nismo letters to match the silver letters on my car.

No I didn't put one on the hood just on the rear of the car opposite the 350Z emblem. I did at one time have one on the top of my OEM strut bar, but now I have the Crawford strut bar and plenum. I am not sure whether I like the Nismo emblem on the hood, but if you put one there I would use the raised letter one there too.

You may be right about the front. The raised letter Nismo decal is probably larger than the one that comes in the Nismo graphics kit for use on the hood. I'll have to look for a picture on my computer at home of the rear of my car. The Nismo letters on my car together are about the same width as the 350Z emblem on the rear hatch. The letters are also about the same height as the 350Z emblem. In other words when you look at the back of my car the 350Z emblem and the Nismo decal balance each other since they are on opposite sides of the rear hatch.

I like the way it looks because there was nothing on the right side before the Nismo decal and because it is fairly subtle. I also have several Nismo parts on my car so it ties in with those, especially the wheels.
