Default Those with Vented hoods

Not sure why I thought of this but wanted to ask. Aren't there any issues with rain getting through the vents and onto your engine? I know this may be a novice question but I was just curious about that. Also for those that have vented hoods with a aftermarket strut bar did you have any issues with the bar causing a rising where the hood mounts on so that it isnt flush?

mine has a liner i use when it rains. if your strut bar sits much higher, it will prolly rub the vents. you can always use one of those off-the-plenum strutbars, like the crawford, without any rubbing problems.

you wont have a problem with water gettin in your engine bay, because the bottom of your engine is exposed to water/ the elements...

jus dont go in a car wash with it, espe if you have an aftermarket intake... jus to be safe wash it yourself

during the year or so that i used the hood without using the liner during rainy periods, i did notice some minor rusting, like at the nuts on top of the struts.

well if your car sits outside without a cover and no garage yeah id say you might have a few problems but as far as driving it in the rain no. Starting it in the rain no. Engine problems no. I could see what zboy is talking about though. I keep my car in a parking garage or coverd 90% of the time so im not worried. Also the vents work so well its amazing. I wont ever go back to a non vented hood, ever.

well its a ts style hood. Seibon sells it in cf but i dont know about fiberglass. I painted mine already and it looks nice. Paid 600 shipped for it. Annihilator did a perfect paint match. Solid why not buy a cf hood and have it painted. It will hold less heat and the vents really do work for air flow. All you have to know its flowing serious air is see how tons of dirt settles in the vents from the air flowing out and how my wax gets like blasted off the area right behind the vents. With your turbo your car will get even more hot.

Well thats cool I replaced all the nuts in the engine bay with stainless steel anyway so I'm not to concerned about rust but as for right now I'm in rain city usa so I was exploring before I made any changes hood wise.

Default here you go solid

i paid 350 for my paint job for the hood. Annihilatorcustoms.com. They rule. I kept finding itty bitty things wrong with the paint job and they took it back and kept working on it until i was completely satisfied. They also gave me daily updates and this price includes blending into your other panels so that the color match is flawless. Also the paint comes with a 3 1/2 year warranty on everything and a lifetime labor warranty.

Did the hood interfere with the strut bar at all, or does it just replace the stock hood with no modifications? Does it include new fittings (front latch, hinges) or do you use the original stock ones?

Looks great, by the way.
