Default Are clear reflectors illegal?

Somebody was telling me that a vehicle is required to have an amber reflector on the front. Even if you install the clear reflectors there is still the amber reflectors in the headlights. Anyone else know anything about this?

Yeah, clear reflectors are illegal in CA. But I figured that the amber strip in the headlight would suffice...

I think its legal. I might be confused but i think it goes like this.

Reflectors need to be white or amber in the front. If the amber acts as a turn signal then it needs to be white with amber bulb or amber with white bulb. I could and might be mistaken. But I think that would be the last thing you get popped for. Even after no front plate. Youd have to be a jackA55 for them to be mean to you and give you a fix it for the reflectors.

The CA MVC requires flashing amber or white lights in the front and amber or red to the rear.

Turn Signal Lamps

24953. (a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber light visible to the rear.

(b) Side-mounted turn signal lamps projecting a flashing amber light to either side may be used to supplement the front and rear turn signals. Side-mounted turn signal lamps mounted to the rear of the center of the vehicle may project a flashing red light no part of which shall be visible from the front.

US vehicles are required to have front side-markers which reflect AMBER. They must also illuminate AMBER. Since the Z33 side-markers do not illuminate, NISSAN added a strip inside the headlamp assembly which illuminates amber in color. Therefor, the amber reflector and upper amber lens are both required by law.
