I got the Nissan nose mask, as well, even though I've not had an occasion to put it on. As others have said, it is not a fashion accessory so much as a simple and inexpensive way to protect the front end on long highway drives.

I assume with the clear bra that, after it becomes pitted, it has to be replaced?

One other question:

Any noticeable increase in the engine temperature since the plate covers almost half of the entire opening. Seems to be a poor design in Nissan's part to close off the sides of the grill.
After putting it on, I went on an 800 mile road trip up the coast. If there was any increase in temperature, it was minimal. Needle still registers at about 8:00 to 8:30 (if it was a clock face)

Hey Reenmachine, thanks for the compliment!!

Let us know if you run into issues with the Colgan on your 2600 x 2 mi. journey, particulary in the ease of cleaning. I also have the Colgan but haven't taken it thur an endurance ride.

Ride safe.

Add me to the list of people using the factory nose mask.

I can tell you this:
It took me an hour last night to get the thing on.
It was 40 degrees out and the mask was fresh out of the box. I've never, in my entire life, seen a bra fit so snug. It was a bear and I had to use a hairdryer (don't tell my wife) to get the bra to stretch.
it looks good (as good as bra's get anyway) and hopefully it won't be as hard to get on and off now that it has stretched a bit.

You're not alone on the excessive time to put the bra on the first time (man, this dialog sounds like something out of the Ophra show).

The Colgan is the same and I am in So. Cal. (but the weather's been cold these days (except today)).

a great tip from the Nissan dealer on nose mask installation....
Leave the nose mask in HOT sun for 3 hours.... install while still HOT!!!
I was able to install the nose mask in about 30 min... thanks to the soften up material so i can stretch a lot easier... i can see how difficult it can be without heating it up first....
hope this helps

Again, wait until it is warm outside, even hot!

I put mine on last night for the first time right out of the box, and it must have taken an hour! It fits like a glove, however, except for one tab that I can't seem to get under the headlight.

I had the same issue with the far left headlight tab being to tight, I just trim about half of it off, no problem now.

It takes about 2 minutes to remove for washing and another 2 minutes to reinstall.

Driver's side, right-hand side?

That's the one that simply won't fit, even though I, too, tried to slip it under the base of the light and then slide it into place.
